I need advice.
If you joined a super-active game with a really excellent character... and then the game closed a month later, what would you do about it? I'm seriously considering trying to build something similar with a few of the same people and any new recruits I can find, but I know nothing at all about being a mod. I fail at code, I'm immature, and I'm not a graphics wizard, so I'm not really sure it would work at ALL.
So, my question is this: what advice would you give to a first time mod about to start a game? Are there any tricks of the trade I need to be aware of?

Okay, my loves. I stole this idea from Nat (who posted it ages ago), and didn't want to post it until finals were over.
Give me two characters you know for sure I'm familiar with (yours and mine, yours and yours, mine and mine...) and I will write you a short fict for christmas/wintery holiday of your choice. If you want a particular situation or theme thrown in, I can do that too.

What if I changed Deric's face to Isaiah Garnica? I want to move him out of emo land and into scene kid territory. Though the border is pretty blurred, I think I can do it if I try. I don't know if Isaiah has the right vibe, though.
I'm also halfway considering changing Chris's face to someone a bit more masculine. Now that he's on T and is generally thickening up I think it might do him some good to... um... not look like a hot girl. IDK. The only person I can think to change him to would be Andrew Shimomura. If he weren't Japanese instead of Dominican I'm pretty sure he'd be Omahyra Mota's fraternal twin. I think it's the SEX lips.
Meanwhile, there is no end to the joy I get making icons of pregnant bellies. &hearts

I'm almost halfway done with my final fiction project for this quarter! And I'm totally owning the extra credit in human nutrition. Become a vegetarian for eight weeks? Please, I'm already pesko, all I need to do is cut out fish. And I've finished my woman's studies readings for the first three weeks!
...... It's the first day of the second week.
Someone please tell me to get a life. Good lord. I'll be dying of boredom by midterm at this rate. This is why homeschoolers shouldn't go to college, we haven't spent our whole lives learning to hate school, so we end up unintentionally overachieving.
In other news, I suck at capoeria (capoera?).

Once upon a time,
My sister rickrolled an entire karaoke venue.
And we all lived happily ever after.

Um. Yeah.
My other story goes like this:
Once upon a time,
My character was a compulsive slob, and I couldn't seem to stop writing about it. After a page and a half I was just like "screw it. yes, she's messy, get over it."
And so I just saved and started over. And head-desked.
I hate Wendy now, because all I can seem to do with her is talk about her laundry and make analogies about the ocean. And I suck at short stories.
No happily ever afters.

Name: I really like the name Brian. I'm thinking Thomas for middle name (Brian Thomas sounds very solid).
Age: Mid-late twenties? As always, I'm tempted to make him really young... but I'm not going to. I have three chars under twenty already.
Job: I want a flight attendant. >_>
Tale: Locasta! The good Witch of the North. Also known as NOT GLINDA.
Power: Crap! I already have someone who give protective kisses! I'll probably do something involving the Witch mirror. Like... being able to see people's true intentions in their reflections?
Personality in a nutshell: Leads a bit of a double life between work/home.
At work he:
-Is a flight attendant.
-Is a fastidious little worker bee who gets things done well and on time.
-Has a prizewinning-toothpaste-commercial smile.
-Looks and acts very professional.
-Is clean-shaven.
Off work he:
-Lives alone in a small apartment.
-Usually avoids mirrors (yay for avoiding abilities?), and so looks like a constant mess.
-Is a cheeky little twit. Smart but doesn't really know how to apply it to real life.
-Usually has some length of beard.
-Probably wears glasses? Like nice big ones. Like Adam Pavao (clue: he's the person in this picture who isn't Ellen) style.
Feel free to talk me out of this. I need another character like I need a thing I don't need.

Writing, writing, writing. I've got a thread with Lile going to be posted in the future when it works for our plot (next month permaybehaps?), and another one almost started with Rose.
How could I have ever hated third person roleplay? It now holds stock in my soul.
Meanwhile, I'm not going to make 10k by the end of July. I've been spending waaay too much time on logs, and not enough on the book. I have a pretty decent start, though. I'll definitely be continuing this, even if I don't make my goal.
Speaking of goals, my goal for this weekend is to swim three hundred yards. Remember that number on monday when I'm all sore and grumpy.

I have a little story for you. It's called: why is Ellen such a monumental asshole? I'm still sqee-ing about the exchange where Angie is all "I love you" and Ellen is all "You sure?" and Angie is like "As death and taxes." How perfect are they? Too perfect. Too fucking perfect. Okay, I can't even explain this. It was just so much crack that I had to write it down. I'm not even going to post this in my LJ, because I know for fact that my sisters/rl friends would roll their eyes so hard they might injure themselves. Actually, you guys might also. Sorry. I hope I don't cause any bodily harm with this dream.
I apologise in advance to Alex, Emma, Nat, and Jo for the way their characters acted in my dream. Seriously guys, feel free to put an official restraining order on my dreams. They really have no business playing around with your characters. XD
( Then Conner appeared for like, two seconds. He was pretty much only there long enough to tell us how monumentally stupid that idea was, and how he wasn't going to pick out coffins for us when we died. )
And the thing that really gets me is that the entire time I was just like "damn... I thought you guys would be taller." Also, dude, my first ever dream with RP characters, and my own didn't even make guest appearances. Yeah. Basically, it was weird.
